About the role As an AOD Clinician you will deliver a unique therapeutic evidence based approach and make a actual impact on the lives of individuals in a correctional setting who are dealing with substance-related harm. You will clear away old behaviours and develop new skills and strategies for a sustainable recovery journey.
With a strong clinical leader, you’ll work in a multidisciplinary environment to deliver holistic, kawa and tikanga-grounded psycho-educational programmes. Your expertise will also be applied through one-on-one mātauranga Māori-led therapeutic interventions.
About you You will be an experienced clinician who is committed to cultural integrity and positive outcomes.
You must have:
- Current DAPAANZ registration with up to date APC.
- A strong understanding of and commitment to Tikanga Māori, with a passion for Pacific cultural norms
- Experience in Correctional settings (preferred)
- A lived experience would be seen as a positive
- The ability to work in a values-led, mana and wairua-enhancing way, reflected in your language, behaviour, and attitudes
- Strong communication skills and familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications
- A full NZ driver’s licence
- Willingness to undergo criminal conviction and reference checks for working in Auckland Prison
