About the Role

We are seeking a Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) to join a dedicated team in delivering high-quality, integrated mental health support to patients. This role is part of Te Tumu Waiora, a national initiative focused on providing accessible and effective primary mental health care.

As a HIP, you will work alongside general practice teams, providing brief, evidence-based interventions to individuals, whānau, and groups. You’ll play a key role in supporting mental and physical well-being across all ages and backgrounds.

What We’re Looking For
  • Registered health professional with full registration (HPCA, DAPAANZ, SWRB, or NZAC with Te Whatu Ora Accreditation)
  • Skilled in talking therapy modalities such as ACT, CBT, or FACT
  • Passion for improving equity in healthcare
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships within Māori, Pasifika, and wider community networks
  • Experience working in mental health, counselling, or addiction services (3+ years)
