About the organisation - Leading provider of Specialist Brain injury rehabilitation
- Similar to a Hospital inpatient setting, the difference being they don't provide snapshot rehab - rather full rehab from 2 - 3 weeks through to months
- Large interdisciplinary team includes medical specialists, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, nursing, social work, dietitian and rehab assistants.
- Outcomes focussed and committed to working towards client and family goals.
About the Job - Working in partnership with clients and their families / whanau and alongside the interdisciplinary team
- These clients have acquired brain injury and high cognitive and medical needs.
- Provide occupational therapy rehabilitation interventions for adults with severe traumatic and/or acquired brain injury from the post-acute phase through to community re-integration and discharge
- Help identify rehabilitation goals, assess skills and identify occupational performance issues
- Develop rehabilitation programmes
- Work in a purpose built 25 bed facility with single rooms and excellent amenities designed for the delivery of best practise rehab activities / services
About you - A Registered Occupational Therapist with current APC
- Previous experience in neuro rehab, neuro surgery, cognitive rehab is ideal. Otherwise you'll be passionate about venturing into neuro-rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, and traumatic brain injury
- Compassion, empathy, patience and excellent communication is essential. Often the clients and their families have had their lives turned upside down overnight
- You like to work in an interdisciplinary way.
